Worship Hours 8:30 and 11:00 AM
Sunday Church School and Adult Forum at 9:45am

Learning

This ministry provides opportunities for children and adults to learn about the faith. It is one way the congregation helps fulfill the promise we make at each child's baptism to "support and pray for the child in his/her new life in Christ."

SCS Three Year Olds

Sunday Church School

Confirmation Classes

are held Wednesday evenings during two six-week periods (fall and spring) for seventh and eighth graders. In addition the students participate in two "Discovery Days" to see various missions and ministries of the wider church. They also perform at least two service projects during the year and attend a week-end retreat.

Ninth grade students are involved in a mentoring program. The program begins in the spring at the end of 8th grade, and students are typically confirmed on the next Reformation Sunday in late October or early November.

Adult Forum - Adult Forum meets during the Sunday School hour with topics and studies that interest adults.  We have invited numerous teachers to lead adult forum on topics such as Islam, Judaism, Healthcare Reform, Middle East update, Sexuality, Living wills, Hospice care, Lutheran identity, etc…

Men's Bible Study - Group meets at 6:30AM each Tuesday from September - May to discuss readings for the coming Sunday and also to have fellowship.

Saint Matthew Readers - Group that meets monthly to discuss bestsellers, controversial books, and classics.

New Member - Those interested in officially joining the congregation are invited to meet with the pastor in the fall or spring to learn about worship, why we're Lutheran, and more about the congregation itself. Classes for those who desire to become members are held when at least 5 households wish to join.

Bible Study - A Bible study is held almost every other month on a different book of the Bible in two "tracks" - Monday mornings and Tuesday evenings.
